What size system do I need?
It depends on what you want to keep on. Tick your things in the checker above and it adds them up for you. We check the numbers with you before you get a quote.
What does kVA mean?
It's how much power the inverter can give out at once. On today's inverters, 1 kVA is about 1,000 watts. So a 5 kVA inverter can run about 5,000 watts of things at the same time.
And what does kWh mean?
It's how much power the battery can store. A 5 kWh battery can run 500 watts of things for about 9 hours.
Can it run my borehole pump or my geyser?
A borehole pump, yes. It needs one of the bigger kits, Zenith or Solstice. An electric geyser uses a lot of power, so most people get a solar geyser instead. It heats water straight from the sun and usually costs less.
Can I start small and add more later?
Yes. We plan your kit so you can add more panels or batteries later, without replacing what you already have.
What happens when the power goes off?
Your system switches to the battery by itself, in a split second. The things you chose keep running. Most people don't even notice.
How long will my battery last in a power cut?
It depends on what's running. With lights, the fridge, TV and wifi on, a 5 kWh battery usually lasts the whole night. Run more things and it runs out sooner.
Does it work when it's cloudy or raining?
Yes, just less. Panels still make some power on cloudy days, and your battery fills the gap. We size your kit with the rainy season in mind.
Lithium or gel batteries?
Lithium lasts years longer, and you can use more of each charge. Gel is cheaper at the start but wears out sooner. That's why all our kits use lithium.
Do I still need ZESA?
You can keep it. When ZESA is on, it can help charge your battery. When it's off, the sun and your battery take over.
What's included in the price?
Panels, inverter, battery, cables, mounting and installation. Everything it needs to work. We show you the full list before you pay anything.
Can I pay in parts?
Yes. Ask us about lay-bye: you pay a deposit, then the rest over a time we agree, and we install once it's paid.
Can family abroad pay for it?
Yes. Family outside Zimbabwe can pay for a home here. We'll tell you the ways to send the money, and send photos when it's installed.
What warranty do I get?
Two kinds. The parts come with their makers' warranties: panels about 10 to 15 years, batteries about 5, inverters 1 to 5, depending on the brand. On top of that, we cover our installation work for 2 years.
Do you clean and check my system?
Yes, with our Care Plan. We clean your panels and check everything twice a year, and your installation cover keeps going for as long as you're on the plan.
What if something breaks?
Message us on WhatsApp. If it's covered, we fix it free. If it isn't, we tell you the cost before we touch anything.
Isn't a generator cheaper?Worry
At the start, yes. But a generator needs fuel every single power cut, forever, plus repairs. Solar costs more on day one, then the sun is free. Over a few years, most families spend less.
What if your company closes down?Worry
Your panels, battery and inverter keep their makers' warranties no matter what happens to us. You get the papers for every part, so any installer can help you.
How do I know your price is fair?Worry
We show every part and its price before you pay. Compare us with anyone. We'd rather you pick us knowing the numbers.
Do I have to pay before I see it working?Worry
No. You pay a deposit to start. You pay the rest only after we show you your kit running.
